Leash of Relief is an idea that took form my senior year of high-school as I was finishing up clinical rotations at a local nursing home. I developed the concept after seeing so many patients going through difficult times without the love and support of a pet. I dreamed of launching a therapy dog team to give these patients a sense of companionship, normalcy and provide them with emotional support in their time of need. Years later working as a tech in the hospitals I came to realize that health care professionals could benefit from the services of a therapy dog as well. That’s what brought me to create Leash of Relief, a team dedicated not only to serving patients but those who serve them.
